Public policieson information are increasingly becoming an object of governmental actions and of scientific research in several fields of the knowledge. Public policy analysis can contribute for Information Science studies on public policies for information. This requires an understanding of the role of the State as information producer and accumulator and its implications in contemporary society. Theoretical and methodological aspects are suggested for consideration in research on public policies on information.
