This was a bibliographical review with the aim of investigating the trends in studies developed on the curricula of healthcare courses in Brazil, between 2005 and 2011. It was developed from the Bireme and SciELO databases, using the integrated method and the following terms: curriculum innovation, interdisciplinary curriculum, integrated curriculum, curriculum and health. Four categories of analysis emerged: innovative curriculum; paths of healthcare training courses; what the teachers or students think about the healthcare training curriculum; and the curriculum structure. It was concluded that studies on change processes relating to integrated or interdisciplinary curricula predominated, and that there was a lack of studies on teacher training, taking the current curricular innovations into consideration.
