The paper presents a characterization of the field of postgraduate in education in Argentina. We describe: types and thematic of post-graduate programs in education, regional location, institutional integration, and evaluation that have received. The growth of graduate programs in Argentina from the expansion of university enrollment, the called massification of higher education, and the intensification of the evaluation criteria at the university level and in the system of science and technology are then analyzed. Academic development needs of teachers who organize postgraduate offer; and academic needs of training of university teachers, researchers and teachers from other educational levels, are condensed in creating structures of postgraduate training in the same institutions (offer), which are in turn evaluated by the level of their teaching and training structures. Assessment as a means of regulating institutions, graduate programs and faculty feedback circuits and criteria of professionalization of academic in education, and reproduces, in turn, inequities of various kinds (including regional).
