Turtles have been historically used in the Amazon. Nowadays they are consumed, although illegally, by urban and rural populations, but the question is not usually on target. A poll and a research on consumption habits lead us to discuss how the people perceive the problem, the alternatives to such anomalous and concerning situation, and the perspectives to reach sustainability.
