This paper presents a case study discussing the introduction of ecodesign techniques in a company of the electronic automotive industry. The paper begins by reviewing environmental sustainability, industrial ecology, ecodesign and life cycle analysis. The report contains some environmentally accepted practices in the automotive industry and concludes with the process of implantation and establishment of design policies and with a preliminary assessment of the results so far yielded.
