The last decade Latinoamerican constitutional reforms have created and/or enforced the constitutional justice forms. Most of the constitutions have incorporated the "ombudsman" role for the defense and promotion of rights. The arise of environmental conflicts on natural resources management have evidence the need for institutional mechanisms, such as the Ombudsman´skills, to manage them. The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of the Ombudsman's Office in the Matanza Riachuelo Basin environmental conflict.
