This descriptive and exploratory study adopted a qualitative methodological approach, with semi-structured interviews with 13 mothers of children and adolescents with Hirschsprung Disease. Data taken from the interviews were grouped in two themes: knowing the disease and care experience. Involvement of parents in care to children in situations of disease has been a big challenge for health professionals. To have success in this intervention, technical and interpersonal ability from both parents and health professionals is needed.
