The author comments about the DNA instability associated with CNS's diseases which display genetic anticipation. He reviews the evidence of anticipation in bipolar and schizophrenia families. He also presents the RED (Repeat Expansion Detection) investigations and screenings with the antibody 1C2 which demonstrated the participation of this mutational mechanism on the functional psychosis genesis.
