The article proposes to read three poems written by the Rio de Janeiro poet Armando Freitas Filho which turn around the thematic of recent urban violence. For that matter, it draws from earlier political poems, written by the same poet. The hypothesis raised in the article is that poetry, and specifically Armando Freitas Filho's poetry, gives a special treatment to the figure of the victim, the new subject of politics, withdrawing it from the field of vision where the media representation exposes it, inserting a crack or unrepresentable point, from which the poem writes itself.
