This article objective is to expose the perceptions of the executives of the Brazilian market researcher institutes regarding data collection by internet, as well as to evidence which are the main advantages and disadvantages of this method. Strength and weakness had been identified in the study, and researchers must act to find alternatives to overcome the mentioned fragilities.
