This article analyses the type of social control, in function of results that can be encountered in working relations today. Analyses were done from the point of view of four psycho-sociological instances related: mythical instance, social-historical instance, organizational instance and group instance. The methodological choice intended to analyze a theoretical matrix developed in Brazil and an international industry was chosen. Administrative contradictions, generated from conflicts during working relations, were observed. Data does not show a democratic firm environment, but an atmosphere of strongly controlled freedom. By departing from these indicators it will be possible to gather elements to find innovative solutions enhancing quality in the firm's management and in the relationship with employee. For both, management and employees, the common goal is to face through success and good strategies the challenging global economy.
