The public policies for the rural space in Brazil always have given priority to paternal agriculture instead family farmers. Thus, studies realized by FAO and INCRA has given subsidy to creation of PRONAF (National Program for the Strengthening of Family Agriculture) resulting in a new routing of public investments, which began to contemplate the segment of workers. PRONAF is understood like a non-compensatory politic that despite its problems has indeed contributed to changes and betters on the Brazilian agrarian space. Since its creation the 90s, PRONAF underwent several changes on its operational and management structure in order to achieve its objectives and meet the required framework to deal with the complex Brazilian agrarian social reality. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the actions of the State by means of this program, by examining its guidelines and also analyze its credit distribution in different sectors and throughout the regions. One can perceive the diminution of gaps among the several regions in Brazil as the concern that PRONAF has showed to local and regional social-cultural aspects, as a way to warrant its investments through the economical dimension and value others like the several cultures. Thus, were used methodological procedures in the realization of this work such as bibliographic and documental search, beyond secondary sources, aiming to obtain important data and information to analyze of social relations established amid this process of substantiation and specialization of that program.
