“The Unified Health System that works”: actions of humanization of prenatal care

ABSTRACT

Objective

to know how the approach of public policy humanization prerequisites and health programs proposed by the Ministry of Health occur in the practice of prenatal of care usual risk.

Method

field study, exploratory descriptive qualitative approach. The survey was conducted from February to June 2014, with participant observation and semi-structured interviews in four family health units where five nurses and three doctors attended. Operative Proposal was chosen for data analysis.

Results

the categories revealed in this study that promoted the humanization of prenatal care were: The approach and linking of pregnant woman and their family to family health units and Permanent education as a facilitator for humanization in prenatal care.

Conclusions

it is understood that to approach humanized attention, an enlarged look in face of women’s singularities is required.
