Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To analyze the organizational structure of the Patient Safety Centers.

METHOD

This is an exploratory and descriptive study with 12 coordinators of the Patient Safety Center. Data were collected using a structured and validated questionnaire with two evaluation domains based on Donabedian’s triad of structure and process.

RESULTS

Points for improvement were identified regarding the center’s activities, sentinel event prevention, risk management strategies, and professional training.
