Abstract
OGGERO, Antonia Josefina and ARANA, Marcelo Daniel. Inventory of vascular plants from the southern area of Córdoba Hills, Argentina. Hoehnea [online]. 2012, vol.39, n.2, pp. 171-199. ISSN 2236-8906. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S2236-89062012000200002.
The biodiversity of vascular flora from southern part of "Sierras Pampeanas Orientales", located at province of Córdoba, Argentina, is presented. The area analyzed is located between the towns of Achiras and Embalse de Río Tercero, between 700 and 1,200 m above sea level. In this area, the main vegetation units recognized for the province hills are woodland, shrubbery, and grassland. The authors have found 734 taxonomic entities of specific and infraespecific levels belonging to 103 families, including 93 endemisms of national and provincial order, one of them restricted to the area. Thirty-nine new taxa for Córdoba were found; three of them are novelties to Argentinian flora: Cotoneaster henryana and Pyracantha rogersiana (Rosaceae), and Scabiosa columbaria (Caprifoliaceae). The woodland presents the highest number of total (525), exclusive (318) and exotic (63) taxa, the latter amounting to 74 in the whole studied area.
