Retinoblastoma e hamartoma angiomatóide na retina periférica: uma associação incomum ⁺

Retinoblastoma with peripheral retinal angiomalike hamartoma an unusual association

RESUMO

Um caso de retinoblastoma associado a um hamartoma angiomatoso da retina periférica em criança de 4 anos é apresentado. Os exames clínicos não identificaram a presença do hamartoma, tendo sido descoberto ao exame anátomo-patológico pós-enucleação. O retinoblastoma evoluiu com descolamento total do vítreo e formação de membranas vascularizadas. Discutem-se diagnósticos diferenciais e uma explicação da patogenia em bases embriogênicas, tendo como alternativa os novos conhecimentos da biologia das neoformações vasculares intra-oculares.

SUMMARY

This paper presents the clinical and histopathological findings of a retinoblastoma associated with an angiomalike hamartoma in the peripheral retina, which on the basis of clinical findings and ultrasonography was not detected. Differential diagnosis are discussed and an embriogenic hypothesis is proposed, having as alternative, the new data on the biology of intraocular neovascularization.
