The idiopatic macular hole was the most frequent type eigtheen (66.6%) cases, with prepoderance offemales, average age of 64 years and bilaterality in five (18%) patients. In relation to macular hole secondary to cystoid macular edema, seven (87.5%) were females and lens surgery two (37.5%) and uveitis one (28.6%) were the most frequent etiologies. The male group accounted for three (83.3%) in the cases of traumatic hole and the average age was 31.6 years old similarly the female group accounted two (66.6%) in the cases of myopia.
