RESUMO

Os autores apresentam um caso de edema pulmonar agudo numa paciente de 28 anos de idade acometida de hemorragia subaracnóidea secundária à rotura de aneurisma intracraniano. A sintomatologia respiratória ocorreu durante o agravamento do quadro neurológico. Alguns aspectos etiológicos e fisiopatogênicos do edema pulmonar agudo neurogênico são analisados.

Palavras-chave:edema pulmonar agudo neurogênico, hemorragia subaracnóidea, aneurisma intracraniano, sistema nervoso simpático, hipertensão intracraniana.

SUMMARY

The autors report a case of acute neurogenic pulmonary edema in a 28-year-old woman who presented rupture of an internal carotid artery aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage. The respiratory disorders started at the same time the patient's symptomatology aggravated. Some etiological and pathophysiological aspects on neurogenic pulmonary edema are revised.

Key words:acute neurogenic pulmonary edema, subarachnoid hemorrhage, internal carotid artery aneurysm, sympathetic nervous system, increased intracranial pressure.
