SUMMARY
The presence of the tomato fungus mite, Aceria cladophthirus in tomato plantings has been recorded in several localities of the State of São Paulo. Damage caused by the tomato fungus mite is usually greater than that caused by red mite or by other species. Although attacks by mites in tomato plantings are more frequent during the dry season, a high incidence of the tomato fungus mite has been noted in tomato plantings made during the rainy months.
