SUMMARY

Potatoes imported for experimental work sometimes arrive with excessive development of shoots. To study the possibility of raising from shoots, we stored for 8 months in the dark, some potatoes of variety "Prummel P-299". The 112 shoots were removed arid planted out at distance of 20 cm. All took root. Later they were thinned to 56 plants at 40 cm. After 2 months growth, 33(5 tubercles, weighing nearly 10 pounds were harvested.
