SUMMARY
In this paper are reported the results obtained in two experiments with cotton, one on "terra-roxa-misturada" and the other on "terra-roxa-legítima" soils. These experiments were conducted, without further application of fertilizers, in plots used during 5-8 years for testing the immediate effect of potash on the corn crop, the stubble, stalks and leaves of which were always incorporated into the soil of the plots that produced them. Under these conditions, the residual effect of potash on the cotton yields was fairly high in both types of soil.
