SUMMARY
Loquat seeds were kept at different conditions of temperature and humidity to determine which were the best ones for preservation of the viability of these seeds.
The experimental results presented in this paper drew to the following conclusions:
a) The temperature of 5°C was favorable to the seeds.
b) Even maintained at room temperature, but when stored in semiclosed glass containers under high relative humidity, loquat seeds preserved their viability very well during all the time of the experiment. At the 6-months test, these seeds presented 92% of germination.
