SUMMARY
In this experiment the effect of liming was studied on wheat production on an acid soil in the southern part of the State of São Paulo. All plots received a 40-160-30 kg per hectare fertilization. Three levels of lime were utilized, corresponding to 1, 2 and 3 metric tons of amendment per hectare. The increase in yield for these three treatments was 3.8, 11.8 and 2,1%, as compared with the plot with no lime.
The responses for lime under the conditions of this experiment were therefore negligible.
