Productivity of rubber tree clones cultivated in São Paulo

SUMMARY

The production of 36 clones of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensisMuell. Arg.) cultivated in the Ubatuba Experiment Station in the State of São Paulo (Brazil), was compared.
Yields of rubber were small, for most of clones except for PB-5/63, IAN-2326 and IAN-2325 which produced above 2 kg per plant per year.
It is suggested that in that climatic conditions plantations of rubber tree might be economically feasible using suitable clones.
