SUMMARY

The productivity and vegetative development of nine clones of rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. — Arg.) were compared at Fazenda Reunidas de Alvora, Severinea county at the São Paulo State plateau.

Vegetative growth of the clones tested was considered normal. The rubber yield was quite variable among the different clones (Morris-Mann test).

The best results were obtained with the oriental clones that produced about 14 grams per tree and per tapped. The nacional clones, IAN-873, IAN-717, and FX-5, showed a production of 9 grams per tree and per tapped.

According to the results obtained and considering that the disease "South American leaf blight" does not appear in epidemic character, the author thinks it is possible to establish plantations of rubber trees in that region.
