SUMMARY
The effects of sowing C. juncea on November 24, 1976, January 11 and 27 and march 15, 1977, at the row spacing of 30, 60 and 90cm were studied at Campinas, SP. Plant height at maturity and seed yield were measured in August 1977. A significant decrease in plant height at maturity was noted as sowing was delayed. Better seed yields were obtained with the planting by the end of January, independent of row spacing. There was a tendency for increasing seed yield as the row width was narrowed.
