Anesthesiologists of the city of Goiás are aghast with the passing away of one of their more distinguished representatives, Dr. Sebastião Marra Marques, in 07/26/2004 at 73 years of age. Dr. Sebastião started as anesthesiologist in Goiânia in 1958 and has founded the Anesthesiology Study Center (CEA) coordinating the group for several years. He was co-founder of SAEGO and founder partner of COOPANEST-GO, which he has chaired in the period 1999/2001. For his professional and ethical work, his honored, dignified and honest behavior, he was greatly respected, being highly recognized by physicians. He was an anesthesiologist of great charisma and unquestionable credibility.

Recently he was retired, enjoying life with his family. We have lost a great anesthesiologist, colleague, friend and leader, however his image and exemplary life will never vanish from our minds.
