EDITORIAL NOTE

The Brazilian Journal of Biology will now be distributed worldwide, therefore will have a wider audience. The Editorial Board is making a continuous effort to improve the efficiency of the publication such as speeding up the evaluation of papers, and the review of proofs by authors, maintaining rigorously the cronogram of publication of the four annual numbers and analysing permanently the quality of the Journal in order to sustain a high standard.

This will be achieved by the permanent participation of advisors, reviewing papers and the authors returning proofs as soon as possible after correction. It is important also that authors contribute to this editorial policy by making sure their papers are within the limits of 25 pages, including figures, tables, references and text.
