Resumos

Este artigo está centrado nas questões relativas a estratégias para melhoria do desempenho das organizações. São examinadas: (1) as dificuldades de mensuração do produto administrativo e (2) as formas de avaliação da produtividade nas organizações. São ainda detalhadas as principais fontes de aumento da produtividade: a da racionalização, a tecnológica e a comportamental. O artigo conclui mencionando a precariedade dos esforços para o aumento da produtividade administrativa no Brasil e ressaltando sua importância nos próximos anos.

This article analyses questions related to strategic responses to organizational performance by (1) discussing difficulties for measuring management outputs, (2) explaining different ways of evaluating productivity. Sources for improving management productivity: rationalization, technological and behaviorist are also studied. The articlepoints out the shortage, in Brazil, of efforts to improve management productivity and emphasizes the increasing importance of the subject in the near future.

RESUMO

Este artigo está centrado nas questões relativas a estratégias para melhoria do desempenho das organizações. São examinadas: (1) as dificuldades de mensuração do produto administrativo e (2) as formas de avaliação da produtividade nas organizações. São ainda detalhadas as principais fontes de aumento da produtividade: a da racionalização, a tecnológica e a comportamental. O artigo conclui mencionando a precariedade dos esforços para o aumento da produtividade administrativa no Brasil e ressaltando sua importância nos próximos anos.

ABSTRACT

This article analyses questions related to strategic responses to organizational performance by (1) discussing difficulties for measuring management outputs, (2) explaining different ways of evaluating productivity. Sources for improving management productivity: rationalization, technological and behaviorist are also studied. The articlepoints out the shortage, in Brazil, of efforts to improve management productivity and emphasizes the increasing importance of the subject in the near future.
