Capillaria hepatica, estudo da incidência em ratos de Salvador, Bahia, e dados imunopatológicos preliminares

Resumos

Foi encontrada uma incidência de Capillaria hepática de 57% entre ratos capturados na cidade do Salvador. Destes animais infectados foram isoíados ovos do parasito e se obteve a infecção experimental em camundongos. Foi demostrada a presença de anticorpos circulantes contra Capillaria hepatica no soro destes camundongos, tendo sido feito o estudo através de técnicas de eletroforese e imunofluorescência. Estes anticorpos se fixam em todas as estruturas parasitárias, (seja larva, verme ou ovo) e estão presentes no soro dos camundongos já a partir da primeira semana de infecção.

Capillaria hepatica was found in 57% of rats captured in the city of Salvador, Bahia - Brazil. Worm eggs were then isolated from animais with natural infection and used to infect albino mice experimentally. Circulating antibodies were demonstrated by immunofluorescence in the sera of mice during the course of experimental infection, from the first to the 5th week following inoculation. Such antibodies were seen to bind to eggs, larvae and worms present in the liver. These preliminary data suggest that immunological tests may be of value to detect human cases with non-fatal infection caused by Capillaria hepatica.

RESUMO

Foi encontrada uma incidência de Capillaria hepática de 57% entre ratos capturados na cidade do Salvador.

Destes animais infectados foram isoíados ovos do parasito e se obteve a infecção experimental em camundongos. Foi demostrada a presença de anticorpos circulantes contra Capillaria nepatica no soro destes camundongos, tendo sido feito o estudo através de técnicas de eletroforese e imunofluorescência. Estes anticorpos se fixam em todas as estruturas parasitárias, (seja larva, verme ou ovo) e estão presentes no soro dos camundongos já a partir da primeira semana de infecção.

ABSTRACT

Capillaria hepatica was found in 57% of rats captured in the city of Salvador, Bahia - Brazil. Worm eggs were then isolated from animais with natural infection and used to infect albino mice experimentally.
