No presente trabalho são apresentados a análise dos dados obtidos, através da mensuração de elementos xilemáticos , nos diferentes anéis de crescimento de um disco de madeira, formado ao nível do DAP de uma planta adulta de Eucalyptus teretícornis Smith. Pela observação dos dados obtidos, verifica-se o maior crescimento em comprimento das fibras e dos elementos do vaso ocorrem ao nível do 9°anel de crescimento, portanto, o Eucalyptus tereticornis Smith na região sul do Brasil tem o lenho adulto aproximadamente aos 9 anos de idade.
The objective of this study was to get some information about fiber length variation in the growth ringe of Eucalyptun tereticomis Smith, which data could give some informations about mature age of this plant at Rio Grande do Sul, which south latitude is around 31º LS. Two discs from two plants were colected at level D.B.H. at Pelotas by teacher Dr. José de Souza Soares Which sample was genteelly send to us. From each disc was identifyed the growth ringe by macroscopic and microscopic. Analysis of variance showed the following conclusion: - The maximum length of fibers was observaded at 9th rings level, which ring correspond the mature age of this plants. - The fiber length after produzed by cambial fusiformes is longer than that vessel members by intrusive growth. - There was a positive correlation between the vessel member dimention and the fibers. - This result show also, that mature age of this Eucalyptus tereticornis Smith, by fiber length was reached at the 9th growth ring, wich ring was formed at 9 year old.

SUMMARY
The objective of this study was to get some information about fiber length variation in the growth ringe of Eucalyptun tereticomis Smith, which data could give some informations about mature age of this plant at Rio Grande do Sul, which south latitude is around 31º LS.
