The male and the female of Lutzomyia (Trichophoromyia) beniensis n.sp.; from the Department of Beni, Bolivia, are described. The specimens came from CDC trap catches carried out in the forest of the Beni river borders. This species is not anthropophilic but may be attracted by birds.

ABSTRACT

Les auteurs décrivent le mâle et la femelle de Lutzomyia (Trichophoromyia) beniensis n.sp., capturés dans le galerie forestiére du Rio Beni (Département du Beni). L'espèce n'est pas anthropophile mais aurait des appétences omithophiles.

Os autores descrevem o macho e a fêmea de Lutzomyia (Trichophoromyia) beniensis sp.n., capturados na galeria florestal do Rio Beni (Departamento de Beni). A espécie não é antropofílica mas poderá ter atração por aves.
