This year's meeting represents one further step in the direction of merging of the Chagas and Protozoology Annual Meetings. Therefore, all the activities programmed are common to both meetings. Thus, we will have conferences from both meetings distributed along the program and different protozoans are included in round tables for each subject. We hope you find the new format more productive and interesting.

We have selected 535 abstracts and are expecting an attendance of 800 people. As traditionally done, the abstracts are grouped by disciplines, but this time the different protozoans are distributed in each discipline.

Este ano continuamos o processo, iniciado no ano anterior, no sentido de integrar as Reuniões Anuais de Protozoologia e Pesquisa Básica em Doença de Chagas. Estamos assim, aumentando a interação das duas reuniões que começam e terminam juntas. As conferências de uma e outra reunião estão intercaladas ao longo do programa, assim como as mesas redondas temáticas contarão com apresentações tendo como modelos vários protozoários. Os 535 resumos selecionados também estão organizados em seções temáticas, não importando o protozoário abordado.
