"Professor Heonir Rocha" Awards

Since December 2008, the prize “Professor Heonir Rocha” awards original scientific papers published in Jornal Brasileiro de Nefrologia (JBN), currently indexed in SciELO and MEDLINE. The main objective of this prize is to attract high-quality scientific work produced by Brazilian nephrologists and to give the opportunity for the winner to participate in the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Nephrology 2011, with all the expenses covered.

The process to select the best article will be coordinated by Professor Paulo N. Rocha, and the Scientific Committee will be composed by JBN section editors. The articles to be analyzed are those which were published in numbers 3 (July, August and September) and 4 (October, November and December) of volume 32 (2010), and numbers 1 (January, February and March) and 2 (April, May and June) of volume 33 (2011). The result will be announced during Congresso Paulista de Nefrologia (São Paulo Congress of Nephrology), in September 2011.

In this issue, we will present an exclusive section about the 2nd edition of the Brazilian Clinical Practice Guidelines for Mineral and Bone Disorder in Chronic Kidney Disease.
