ABSTRACT

Bithoracochaeta Stein is redescribed based on type material and good series of other species. The redescription includes characteres recently used in the modern classification of Muscidae. Coments on the position of the genus in Coenosiinae subfamily and illustration of proboscis, katepisternum and female terminalia are also presented.
