Editor's letter

Dear all,

This issue opens 2016 at Horticultura Brasileira and inaugurates its volume 34. This year Horticultura Brasileira brings some changes, all adopted aiming at making it an increasingly stronger journal:

Going back to its roots, from now on Horticultura Brasileira covers will always refer to an Invited Article. And this resumption could not be more auspicious: we start with a splendid review paper of Dr. Alice Inoue-Nagata and colleagues, discussing the importance and management of whitefly-transmitted geminiviruses. The cover image, whose credits appear on the inner cover along with the resumées of authors, shows a tomato crop with 100% incidence of viruses;

There are also changes in the Instructions for Authors, available at www.horticulturabrasileira.com.br. Henceforth, it is compulsory to indicate the contribution each co-author has given to the manuscript being submitted;

We will continue strongly advising authors to submit and publish their papers in English. In addition, we intensified efforts to introduce Brazilian Horticulture as an attractive option for foreign authors. This way, we expect to take good care of the internationalization garden, an irreversible trend promoted very assertively by aid and supporting agencies. There is no way out, if we are to continue having a solid journal focused on horticulture, edited in Brazil.

We wish you all lots of success and many achievements in this coming year.

See you in the next issue,

Paulo Melo, editor in chief
