It is a great honor to announce to all members of the CBCD, all researchers in the large area of the Gastroenterology and Associations involving our correlated specialties (Digestive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Digestive Endoscopy, Digestive Motility, Hepatology and other connected) that ABCD was included in the MEDLINE / PUBMED database from 2012. This indexation gives the seal of international standard and quality to our journal, and from now on comes to be considered by all as INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL with benefit for all authors that use ABCD for their articles and scientific papers. It was a great pride as far as at the same time we give the opportunity to have one more Brazilian vehicle to compete with the best journals in the world, it may also help Brazil to climb another step on the already outstanding 13th place that Brazil has in number of publications in the world ranking of journals. The ABCD is proud to contribute to our country, enhancing our research and helping the suffered Brazilian authors to not have the need to submit themselves to long waits to see their scientific papers published.

We encourage our community to send to ABCD the best researches done in our country, because the next step is to include our journal in the ISI / Web of Knowledge. This base uses citations located on the references of all published article to elaborate an index called "Impact Factor". So, to help ABCD to be there with higher impact factor a long the time, its necessary that the authors do not forget to refer the ABCD in all their papers, and also in the submissions done in other journals. With this attitude of our countrymen, we are soon getting a relevant "Impact Factor" that represents the pinnacle of distinction that can be claimed by a journal.

Therefore,
