EDITORIAL

Dear Readers,

Another issue of volume 18 of the Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy is ready. In this editorial we refer to the good news already disclosed in the List of Discussion of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy about the indexation from issue 18(1) of the Journal in the Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch^®). The indexing to the Journal Citation Reports/ Science Edition has also come along with this new indexation, which will bring us soon our impact factor. These successful steps in the development of our Journal show the confidence on it by the group Thomson Reuters, which have already indexed us in its International Pharmaceutical Abstracts database. A copy of the letter that announced the indexations described above can be seen below. We are working now to firmly establish the electronic submission of manuscripts as well as monitoring the entire process of review until the final stages of it. We believe that until the beginning of next year we should make available a test version of the new system. We are still here to make the first call for everyone to participate in the VII Brazilian Symposium of Pharmacognosy which will happen on May 4^th to 8^th, 2009, in Maringá – PR, Brazil.
