Dear Editor,

I read the recent publication on serum lactate with a great interest. Rocha et al. [1] noted that "After Jatene's operation, morbidity and mortality can be assessed with the serum lactate levels, suggesting increased values in the third hour is suggestive of a worse prognosis [1]." I agree that lactate measurement is useful. However, I would like to add up some concerns on lactate determination. First, the vitamin C in serum can cause a false decrease in lactate result [2]. Second, the nutritional status of the infant showed also be concerned as an important cofactor affecting the resulted lactate level [3].

Dear editor,

I agree with the concerns presented by professor Viroj Wiwanitkit. They are comments about potential factors that could influence serum lactate determinations, i.e. anything that influences the supply/demand of tissue oxygen. Nutritional status and serum levels of vitamin C are just some of them, among so many that we could not assess in our study.

10 anos de cirurgia cardíaca no Tocantins

A Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Cardiovascular (RBCCV) cumprimenta os colegas de Tocantins pelos 10 anos de cirurgia cardiovascular naquele estado, completados no dia 13 de fevereiro. A equipe que realizou o procedimento foi liderada pelo Dr. Henrique Furtado. Antes, durante e após a cirurgia, o paciente respondeu ao tratamento e obteve ótima recuperação na então inaugurada UTI-Cardio. A cirurgia durou cerca de quatro horas, entre o meio-dia e às 16 horas.

Hospital Interzonal de Agudos Presidente Perón: 60 años

El Hospital Presidente Perón (*) fue inaugurado el 24 de febrero de 1.951(¹ (1 )El Hospital Presidente Perón-Hospital publico, gratuito, pertenece a la Provincia de Buenos Aires de la Argentina; su primer director fue Ricardo Finochietto con una organización modelo para su epoca, ejemplo del plan de salud publica orientado por el dr Ramon Carrillo el primer ministro de salud en la argentina ). Su capacidad es de 350 (trescientas cincuenta) camas. Cuenta con Alta Complejidad (Cirugía Cardíaca, Hemodinamia, Cateterismo Por Navegación, Embolizaciónes, Ablaciones Electrofisiológicas, Medicina Nuclear, Neurocirugía, cinco Unidades Críticas, Tomografía, Cámara Gamma, Neonatología, Etc.). En los últimos años la Institución ha sido reconocida mundialmente en el desarrollo del Implante de Células Madre. A partir del Plan Trienal 2005-2007 la entidad logró una recuperación en sus estamentos fundamentales: edificio, aparatología, docencia y recursos humanos (² (2 )En relación al SAMO, (SISTEMA DE RECUPERO ECONOMICO POR ASISTENCIA A EMPRESAS Y OBRAS SOCIALES) logróse un incremento del mil por ciento (1.000%), que permite realizar parte de la recuperación. ).

Esta entidad ha trabajado en el aspecto social con dedicado énfasis. Así cuenta con el Centro Experimental Bachillerato Adultos en Salud (CEBAS) mañana y tarde, abierto a la comunidad, a partir de este año.

Licenciatura en Enfermería. Alimentación para todo el personal. Un Hostal para aquellos familiares que viven lejos y que incluye: alimentación, habitación y sanitarios.

Además se instaló la Obra "Curadores" de veinticinco metros cuadrados, realizada por el artista plástico reconocido mundialmente Ponciano Cárdenas, instalada en la cúpula del Hall Central.

El Hospital cuenta con un diario cultural (Prometeus) y un boletín informativo mensual (Kronos). En el Hospital se emplazó el "Museo Evita" en las mismas habitaciones donde la Sra. Eva Duarte de Perón pasó su última etapa de vida y donde dio inicio al voto femenino en el país.

En síntesis; hemos tratado de recrear un hospital público como un derecho para la salud y curación de enfermedades de la población, un derecho humano.
