Backes DS. A construção de um espaço dialógico-reflexivo, no contexto interdisciplinar, com vistas à humanização do ambiente hospitalar [dissertação]. Rio Grande (RS): Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem/ FURG; 2004.

This study is characterized by a set of interventions in the interdisciplinary health field, listed in human and ethics values and principles. These interventions were made in the south of Rio Grande do Sul State, and accomplished between July/2003 and July/2004 by a team of 18 health care professionals. The challenge that inspired is conception and execution was to humanize the hospital environment. Thus, the goal of the current study was to start a humanization process in the hospital ambient, to stimulate the construction of a reflexive dialogue space in an interdisciplinary context, in order to help the Humanization Politics for Health Assistance (PHAS). So, Paulo Freire's critics and reflection method was used to establish dialogic and dialectic relations of action-reflection in the collective space. The theorical referential was supported by the concepts and principles of the National Program of Humanization; by the study of organization as generating factor of humanization and dehumanization; by the reflections about ethics postures adopted in work relations and in the constructing of the collective process (circle of culture from Paulo Freire's method). Three important marks converged in the execution of this study: 1) the humanization group that composed the team, focused the importance of dialogic relations on conquering a new space in the interdisciplinary field; 2) humanization centered on the worker who is more comprehensive in its collective meaning; initiatives of humanization; construction of concrete spaces in which subjectivity can emerge through banks of ideas; a warming collective environment, which brings employees and employers closer and permits the sharing of experiences and talents among team members; 3) humanization centered on the user, leading the institutional politics of humanization and focusing on why hospitals exist. Summarizing, a humanization program needs to be assumed to be a collective and participative dynamic process of construction that is supposed to establish an environment to nurse people, a culture of respecting and valuing the human being who gets ill and the one who nurses, as well as contemplating a subject-subject versus subject-object relationship when the illness is evaluated.
