EDITORIAL

In bringing, in this third issue of 2005, the theme of transdisciplinarity into discussion the Editorial Board of Saúde e Sociedade recognizes the enlarging of the scope of this multi and interdisciplinary field. The variety of approaches and the richness of the interpretations brought by the authors in the four articles published in this issue can be observed in the Special Editorial written by Augusta Thereza de Alvarenga, one of our editors.

Sharing the space with the theme of transdisciplinarity, other manuscripts allow us to amplify our contribution, by the their diversity and by their quality.

This is the case of the article by Jaqueline Ferreira that focus on the Program of Health Humanization of the Ministry of Health, trying to demonstrate that by its nature such proposal demands from the health professionals the shift from a technical dimension, that characterizes their work, to a relational dimension.

The manuscript by Alessandra Barros analyzes the speech of the advertisement of Federal Government in favor of disabled students in the regular school system. She points in her analysis an ambiguous position of the government, but also denaturalizes words identified.

In the article by Davi Rumel, Maristela Sisson, Zuleica Patrício and Claudia Moreno, the reader has a report of a continuous experience of data collection for measuring some health determinants as strategy of the City of Calgary, in Canada, to become a healthy city.

Also in this issue Tatiana Almeida and Maria Isabel Vianna are the authors of a bibliographical review about occupational exposures and dental health effects, emphasizing the importance of epidemiological data in the planning of workers dental health.

With this diversity of themes here presented and the high quality of the approaches, this Editorial Board once more considers Saúde e Sociedade as a space where important health practices and knowledge are diffused.
