The principal objective of any researcher is to have his results made available to the scientific community at large in the shortest possible time.
One of the basic principles of The Journal of Venomous Animals and Toxins has always been to publish worldwide research on Toxinology without charge. With this in mind, we launched Volume 1, Number 1, and in 1997, Abstracts of all the previously published papers and papers accepted for publication were made available on the Internet at the Virtual Center on Toxinology. During 1998, we were invited by SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online, BIREME-FAPESP) to include all back issues of the Journal in their online electronic library.
In addition, a CD-ROM has been developed containing all the back issues of the Journal (1995-1998). This CD-ROM has a powerful engine for searching, retrieving, indexing, and printing.
Finally, all the members of the International Society and the Brazilian Society on Toxinology have been receiving the Journal on a regular basis.
We think these are good reasons for publishing in The Journal of Venomous Animals and Toxins. If you are still in doubt, go to Alta Vista and search the key words "Journal and Toxins."
If you subscribe to The Journal of Venomous Animals and Toxins in 1999, you will receive a free copy of our CD-ROM.
