The editorial of the third issue of Volume 80 (May/June 2005) informed the Brazilian Annals of Dermatology (Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia) readers of the release of the new journal website, with free and unrestricted access, independent from the Brazilian Society of Dermatology website. This measure was aimed at providing wide access to its scientific content. Availability of integral on-line English versions, besides the original papers in Portuguese, had the goal of expanding the visitor universe.

In the last issue of 2005, data regarding numbers of access during the third quarter were published: 9,031 visits, with a daily average of 98 visits, 29.04% of those coming from abroad.

It is with satisfaction that we inform that the Annals have reached during the month of April 2006 the significant mark of 18.138 visits, with a daily average of 610 visits. For a journal which has just completed one year of life, a 600% increase in these figures within a single month of the quarter is indeed noteworthy. Monthly update of the access data is available for consultation at http://relatorio.anaisdedermatologia.org.br (user: anaisdedermatologia-stat; password: asbd2006).

It is only fair that such a success be shared among all responsible for this achievement: the Annals staff, partners, authors, SBD directing board, and specially all Brazilian dermatologists, the major raison d´être of our journal.

These data also testify to the correctness of the established editorial line, which gave priority to a non-stop exercise of scientific rigor and commitment to information quality.
