Professor's Azulay first publication

In June of 1943, Professor Rubem Azulay made his first publication (Azulay RD. Durand-Nicolas-Favre disease. An Bras Dermatol Sifilogr. 1943;18(2):17-37) in the so-called Brazilian Annals of Dermatology and Siphilography. He later became Editor-in-Chief of the journal. He occupied this position from 1970 to 1972, in 1974 and from 1975 to 1992. The aforementioned article details the clinical observation of 6 patients with diagnosis of Durand-Nicolas-Favre disease and the first production of Frei's antigen through an experimental process in Brazil. His work was presented to the Society of Medicine and Surgery of Niteroi in 1941 and was awarded the Antonio Pedro gold medal. On October 28, 1942, it was then presented to the Brazilian Society of Dermatology and Siphilography.
