Good bye to our teacher: lost to the Anna Nery School of Nursing /UFRJ

The School lost one of the most esteem teachers of its social body. In name of this Social Body we homage this dearest student, nurse, professor and friend, the Teacher Assistant and Master in Nursing, Maria da Conceição Gonçalves. She was a shy and brave, an exceptional and ethical person, provided with the deepest feelings, emotions and capacity of donation to the family, to the customers, to the friends, to the School and to the University. Beyond all this, Conceição had a commitment with her profession of faith, the Nursing, a responsibility with the formation of nurses of quality and a nonconformity with the precariousity of the University. The unforgettable presence in her pass by the University left along to the professors, employees and students and to the authorities of this School and other units of the University, that had known her and admired her, the certainty of that her death will not be unpunished and that her trajectory as nurse in the Institute of Illnesses of the Thorax (her first work) and in the Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho (her second work). Later, already as teacher of the Department of Maternal-Infantile Nursing, since 1985 was member of the team of coordination of the Chamber of Graduation of the Center of Health Sciences Council, Assistant Director of the School, acted in the Pro-rectory, mainly the PR1, in the Rectory and Vice-rectory, was Eventual Substitute to the Coordinator of the Course of Graduation of the School and in other sectors of the UFRJ. Our moan and suffering for the irreparable loss of Conceição are for who in her trajectory knew to conduct themselves in defense of the life, friendship, sincerity, solidarity, commitment, disposal/availability, love, presence and professional ability. As participant of the changes of the resume of the graduation of the School, between the years 1978 and 1982, she taught in some scenes of professional practical and vehemently fought for better conditions of teach-learning. With a prodigious memory, Conceição always remembered the historical and the colorful details of almost every situations lived for her in the School and in the University. Her influence in the education of graduation of the School, many times invisible and quiet and without occupying positions, was expressive throughout different periods of coordination. All of this was constructed by this teacher, therefore it conquered a recognition as "doctor in solidarity" in the world of the academy. To remember her professional life and her accomplishments is an obligator recognition of the Institution, face to our necessity to keep alive her memory and example. This is our homage "in memorian", with perpetual gratitude for us had had the chance to coexist with a rare and singular, Christian person and citizen.
