In Audiology, auditory processing and English language proficiency, the upper semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome and auditory training after traumatic brain injury are the themes selected for this volume. Social representation and the professional ethos of speech therapists in Chile is the theme of one of the articles on General Speech-Language Therapy that also has an article on speech, swallowing and quality of life in myelinolysestrapontin.

The diversity of the themes in each area presented continues to stimulate the team of editors and referees of CEFAC Journal to strive even more for an excellent scientific standard of publications. In the different areas of our Journal, technological and scientific spirits are noticed as a feature of the authors who submit the results of their investigations.

With this volume, ABRAMO’s directors enter their second year in charge of CEFAC Journal´s publishing. Many challenges were overcome in the first year, the continuity and excellence of the publications being the main focus. Overcoming the challenges for new indexing is the goal of the chief editors.

Between June 1 and 3, 2017, the X Brazilian Meeting on Orofacial Motricity will take place in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. This is a great opportunity to discuss the state of the art of this specialty in Speech Therapy. In the invitation to attend the event, the presence of the authors who have sent their research for publication is expected. The organizers prepare moments for learning and discussion of new paths for Orofacial Motricity, for ABRAMO and CEFAC Journal.

The international day of Orofacial Motricity is celebrated in this bimester, and on February 17, activities were planned in different continents, to commemorate how much the specialty has evolved internationally. Editorial II by authors Franklin Sunsanibar (Peru), Ricardo Santos (Portugal) and Irene Marchesan (Brazil) presents the campaign theme for 2017 "Tongue tie, impaired orofacial functions".

Like Orofacial Motricity, may Speech Therapy keep on celebrating its scientific advances, as we hope much of the results of these achievements will be presented here in the form of articles.
