In 2017, the Brazilian Meeting on Orofacial Motricity held by the Brazilian Association of Orofacial Motricity - ABRAMO comes to its 10th edition. With great honor, the Orofacial Motricity and Dysphagia Group of Belo Horizonte has started the partnership in the organization of the event and the UFMG Medical School looks forward to welcoming participants from all over the country.

Initially conceived to be an event of a basically regional impact, the Brazilian Meeting on Orofacial Motricity (EBMO) matured and won a prominent place among the annual scientific events of Speech Therapy. Speakers and panelists of high prominence in the area and the quantity and level of scientific work are indicators of the quality that the event has achieved over these 10 years.

The event has received an increasing number of works enrolled in both simple and expanded abstract modality, which compete for awards, and several are subsequently published in the Revista CEFAC, attesting their quality.

EBMOs had their official start in 2008 and have always sought to alternate regions of the country. Thus, in August 2008, the I EBMO was held in the city of Goiânia, GO, in 2009, the II EBMO, in Recife, PE, and in 2010, the III EBMO, in Belo Horizonte, MG. In 2011, the IV EBMO was held in the city of Natal, RN, and in this event, the presentation of scientific papers, the Irene Marchesan Prize for scientific accomplishment and the releasing of a book on the theme of the Meeting were held at each event. In this event, the book "Updates in Orofacial Motricity" was released.

In 2012, the V EBMO took place in the city of Curitiba, PR and the book "Speech-Language Therapy in Orofacial Motricity" was released. In 2013, Fortaleza, CE, was the city chosen for the VI EBMO, in which the book "Evaluation in Orofacial Motricity: discussion of clinical cases", was released. The VII EBMO, held in 2014, in the city of São Paulo, SP, resulted in the publication of the book "Clinical Practices in Orofacial Motricity". In 2015, the VIII EBMO was held in the city of João Pessoa, PB, with special emphasis on the publication of the book "Speech in the various contexts of Orofacial Motricity". Finally, in 2016, in the city of Bauru, the IX EBMO addressed the interfaces of Orofacial Motricity with the other areas of knowledge, the book "Interfaces in Orofacial Motricity" being released at that occasion.

Now in 2017, on June 1, 2 and 3, the theme developed will be "Acting at the different levels of health care". In the opportunity, approaches of Orofacial Motricity in primary, secondary and tertiary care will be discussed, highlighting themes of great interest to the speech therapist, whether a clinician and / or a researcher.

The thematic workshops will address issues related to the lingual frenulum, facial motor points, breastfeeding, myofunctional exercises and therapeutic bandaging. At the round tables and lectures, speech therapy in basic care, prevention of food refusal, facial paralysis, facial aesthetics, orofacial myofunctional therapy, sleep disorders, mouth cancer, head and neck burns, bariatric surgery and speech disorders, will be discussed.

The mountains of Minas Gerais and the hospitality of its people await everyone for a rich scientific moment and why not a coffee with prose?
