Editorial Note

In 2002, the Brazilian Journal of Biology published approximately 101 articles. The number of articles submitted to the Journal is continuously increasing, indicating strong approval of our editorial policy which is to constantly improve the quality of the publication.

In keeping with a recent modification in publication policy, the Editorial Board asks all authors of multiauthored papers to sign submitted manuscripts. This will solve some publication problems that have arisen in dealing with these papers. It will also facilitate the work of the reviewers and the Editorial Board.
