The Brazilian Journal of Biology receives a great number of papers submitted for publication. The reason for this is well-known by the Editorial Board: we have a rigorous evaluation policy; the journal has been published regularly now for more than ten years; we are an international publication; and finally, the impact factor of BJB is 0.688.
Due to the great deal of work that represents the larger number of papers submitted to BJB, we are increasing the number of members on the Editorial Board. The editorial policy is to invite qualified scientists from the areas of expertise of BJB, as well as to have a representation of the geographical distribution of specialists.
In 2013, two special issues of BJB will be published, which are already in preparation. And in this current issue, we have published 32 papers.
