EDITORIAL

" Moving forward"

Dear Readers:

We proudly present you with the certainty of a promising year for JAOS. Along with this issue, we have just released our first Special Issue, which brings the full text of the presentations at the latest meeting of the Brazilian Academy of Dental Materials, last July in Bauru. You will notice from that and from this issue that the quality of the printing has improved and the presentation of the manuscripts as well. In this issue, Dr. Leonardo and his co-workers offer us an extensive review on the role of endotoxins (LPS) on the periapical lesions. This will certainly bring to those interested in the field the most updated information for the understanding of new approaches for root canal treatment. We hope you enjoy it.

We move forward. Seeking our objective to renovate the Editorial Board and the board of referees, you will be able to see in this, and in the next issues this year that new names will appear. We take the opportunity to express our gratitude to all of you who placed confidence in our work and joined us in this endurance to move forward to be better.

Write it down in your agenda. Next November, Bauru School of Dentistry and JAOS will promote the International Meeting of Editors and Contributors of Scientific Periodicals in the field of Dentistry. We have confirmed the presence of Drs. Mark Herzberg (Journal of Dental Research), David Watts (Dental Materials), Larz S. W. Spangberg (Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology & Endodontics), Paul Dummer (International Endodontic Journal), Lone Schou (Quintessence International) among others from abroad and Brazil. The meeting goal is to share experience and efforts to improve the quality and the means to deliver a high standard dental science to all of us. The meeting also includes symposiums and workshops that will focus on the critical review of manuscripts, and information on how to write scientific papers. All of this coming from those who are in charge of selecting the very best to be published. If you somehow involved in research, teaching or publishing, do not miss the meeting.
